EXTRA LARGE VACUUM FORMER 10’ x 12’

At Americana Displays, we are the leader in vacuum forming, and with our in-house tool-making and engineering ability, we can assist you from the design shape through to prototyping and production. Using both rotary and single station equipment, we are able to produce parts up to 10’x12’x3’ in a large variety of materials from simple Polystyrene, ABS, Acrylics, PETG and Polycarbonate to exotic materials such as fire retardant and low smoke materials for the transportation industry. The use of pressure forming can create the parts that appear to have been injection molded, but without the high tooling costs and long lead times of injection molding.

Vacuum Forming or Thermo-Forming involves four processes:

1. Making of a Mould specifically to the shape required
2. A flat sheet is heated in an oven until pliable to be formed over or into the Mould using a Vacuum Pump system that sucks the part unto the Mould.
3. Cooling is done by blower fans.
4. Making of a Die or Part could be Router shaped/Saw cut or trimmed manually depending on the finish and quantity.
